A heartwarming Christmas Eve story.
Christmas Eve, hooray! We've got a get-together at my parents' house tonight - soup, salad, and loads of desserts. First thing this morning I went out to buy some baking supplies for the red velvet cupcakes and cheesecake I will be contributing. I was wearing my schlepping-around clothes, glasses, jeans, a boring shirt. As I was walking from one part of the strip mall to another, a man walked up to me. This is what he said:

"My first love wore glasses. Some women get self-conscious about them, worrying about how they look. But not only do they make you look smarter, but they make you unique."

Then he said he was heading to one store in particular - back in the direction he came from - and beckoned me to follow him. Since I was walking in the same direction, I humored him.

He continued, "There was a Seinfield episode where the Oh Henry! candy bar heiress wore a brassiere as a top."

And here's the kicker. He finished by saying, "You in that top with those glasses would blow everybody out of the water."

Oh my god, I could not stop laughing.

All right, back to baking.
